Verification - Introduction
The Weights and Measures Act requires all weighing and measuring instruments used in trade in Botswana to be verified for correctness.

Verification ensures fair trade, and boosts service confidence both on the consumer’s side and the trader’s in that BOBS provides third party assurance.

The scope of verification includes weighing scales, petrol pumps, weighbridges, steel rules and volumetric container measures.

Stickers are used to indicate compliance status of instruments; green for compliance and red for non-compliance.

ALL instruments are verified at least once every twelve months; customer can request services at anytime.
