Activities and Standards (Technical Regulations)

The CSU was established for the purpose of promoting and facilitating the implementation of Compulsory standards. The purpose of the Compulsory standards is to protect the Health and Safety of Humans (Consumer), Animals and the Environment.

These promotion and facilitation of implementation processes are carried out through the following Activies:

  • Information dissemination (Seminars, Press releases, Radio and TV Interviews, Stakeholder visits)
  • Training of inspectors
  • Appointment of inspection Teams
  • Inspections · Sampling
  • Feedback (Reports)
The following are current Compulsory Standards (Technical regulations):
  1. BOS 3-7:1999 The handling, storage and distribution of liquefied petroleum gas in domestic, commercial and industrial installations-part 7.
  2. BOS 9:2000 Pre packaged goods for the ultimate consumer: labelling, presentation and advertising: General requirements.
  3. BOS 8-1:1999 Poultry feeds- part 1: Chicken feeds-Specification
  4. BOS 25:2000 Animal feeding stuffs-cattle feeds-Specification
  5. BOS 26: 2000 Cereals – Sorghum grains for human consumption - Specification
  6. BOS 32:2000 Drinking water – Specification
  7. BOS 186:2006 Plastic Carrier bags and Flat bags – Specification
