Presentation of World Metrology Day tracksuits to students athletes in Jwaneng Schools
' Measurement in Sport '
BOBS joined the global community in commemorating World Metrology Day on 20th May 2008. The theme for this year was Measurement in sport, acknowledging the Olympic Games which were recently held in China. The attendees for this year’s seminar and parade included student athletes and sportspersons from various sporting clubs in Jwaneng. Mokala Lodge in Jwaneng was the place to be on the morning of May 20th 2008 if you wanted insight into the value of measurement in sports; setting standards for sports fields and distinguishing winners from losers..

Following the initial commemoration, a BOBS team comprising the Public Relations Officer and two technical staff visited the schools to fulfil the BOBS promise of presenting the excelling student athletes who had attended the May 20th commemoration with tracksuits on Wednesday 6th August 2008. Teachers and students were availed a short presentation on measurement in sport which was facilitated by Mr. Kajane. This was followed by a questions and answers session before Mrs. Sarumi handed out the presents. BOBS water bottles were given to students who answered correctly and tracksuits presented to students who attended the commemoration in May (excelling athletes). The schools that benefited from this exercise are Jwana, Teemane and Kgalagadi Primary Schools, Morama and Kgosimpe Junior Secondary Schools.

The rules were easy. The first person to give the right answer was given a water bottle printed with a BOBS logo.
