Botswana Bureau of Standards is a parastatal organization established by an Act of Parliament. It has the responsibility of ensuring that products manufactured and imported into Botswana as well as services provided are of acceptable quality and its scope of activities include among others; preparations of national standards, inspection and testing, product and company certification, training, and dissemination of standards and quality related information.

Botswana Bureau of Standards currently have the following employment opportunities ::


Public Relations Officer : Vacancy No. 47/2011/2012

The successful candidate will be expected to pro-actively promote awareness and positive image, and the aims, objectives and activities of the Bureau to enhance its effectiveness.

The successful candidate will have a Degree or Diploma in Public Relations or equivalent. Degree holders should have a minimum of three years experience while Diploma holders should have at least five years experience.

Receptionist: Vacancy No. 46/2011/2012

The successful candidate will be expected to efficiently operate PABX switchboard, receive and direct the Bureau’s visitors thereby promoting a positive and efficient image of the Bureau

The successful candidate will have at least a BGCSE, Certificate in Front line and Customer Relations as well as a minimum of one year operating a switchboard. Typing will be an added advantage as well as computer literacy.

Scientist-Testing (Chemistry): Vacancy No. 45/2011/2012

The successful candidate will be expected to promote the adoption of standards and quality assurance policies and practices within a sector to enhance the delivery of, and public awareness of their rights to, quality goods and services and provide technical services within a specialized  testing area (Chemistry)

The successful candidate will have at least a science degree in Chemistry. Light duty driving license is a requirement while relevant experience would be an added advantage.
