Botswana Bureau of Standards (BOBS), a parastatal organization responsible for development of Botswana Standards and coordinating quality assurance activities in Botswana, is in the process of implementing the Standards (Import Inspections) Regulations (SIIR). The SIIR was published on the 12th September 2008 in the Botswana Gazette. The main purpose of SIIR is to control the quality of the prescribed imports as listed in the regulations. Standard for Plastic Carrier Bags

Bos 186:2006 Following the preliminary gazetting of BOS 186:2006 a standard for Plastic Carrier Bags and Flat Bags Specification, in the Government Gazette Vol. XLV, No. 2 of 8 January 2007 by the Managing Director of BOBS, the Minister of Trade and Industry has now issued a Notice declaring the standard, BOS 186:2006 Plastic Carrier Bags and Flat Bags Specification compulsory for the Botswana market.
