Trade Metrology Unit within BOBS provides the focus for legal metrology within Botswana, Africa and the international market place.

Trade Metrology carries out the following work:

• Preparation of Legislation (Weights and Measures Act)
• International Representation (OIML)
• Maintenance of National Standards in the trading parameters of Mass Volume and Length.
• Calibration of Mass, Volume and Length standards
• Verification of standards used for trade purposes
• Consultancy and advice.
